This intermediate level hand building class builds on the fundamentals covered in Hand Building 101 and is ideal for students with some prior clay experience either at Forma or elsewhere. We’ll briefly review essential techniques before introducing more complex projects and refined surface approaches.
Students will create functional and decorative pieces like mugs, sculptural vessels, lidded forms, and more while exploring texture, form, and surface design techniques that elevate their work. Emphasis will be placed on thoughtful design, clean construction, and expressive surface decoration.
Whether you’re looking to refine your skills or push your creative boundaries, this class offers a supportive space to grow your hand building practice.
