Join us at FORMA Pottery Studio for our outdoor Fall Raku firing event! This traditional Japanese firing technique produces stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces. Watch as your pottery goes through the dramatic Raku firing process—heated to high temperatures and rapidly cooled in organic materials, creating unique crackled textures and vivid metallic finishes. Perfect for beginners and seasoned potters alike, our Raku firing event offers the chance to learn new glazing and firing techniques in a communal setting.
You will bring your own bisque fired pottery and under the guidance of our Raku expert, Mandy Stringer, you will learn how to glaze and apply unique organic materials to your pieces. Then, watch as the high-temperature firing in our outdoor kiln transforms your work. As each piece emerges from the kiln, it’s rapidly cooled in a reduction chamber, creating unpredictable, dramatic finishes.
