Wheel All Levels 8wks Mondays 10:30am – 1pm w/ Jen Focus on Surface Decoration (5/20 to 7/15 NO CLASS MEM DAY)

May 20, 2024

In this specialty pottery class, students will gain a thorough understanding of various surface decoration techniques, including carving, slip trailing, underglaze painting, resist methods, and more. Students will also learn about the technical aspects of surface decoration, including proper preparation of clay surfaces, drying and firing considerations, and troubleshooting common issues that may arise during the decoration process. This class is perfect for those artists who are looking to add visual interest to their pots and use the surface of the clay as a canvas. Students ideally already have the ability to center, throw, and trim 1 pound of clay (reasonably well) without needing supervision.

  • $395 per person for 8 weeks
  • Each class is 2.5 hours
  • Includes one 25 lb bag of clay
  • Firing fees included ($60 6 pennies/cubic inch =1000c.in.)
  • 12 person max per class
  • We offer make-up class opportunities if you need to miss one or two sessions
  • Students will have limited access to the Clayroom outside of class (up to 16 hours) POTTERS HOURS: It’s like office hours, and an instructor will be here to help.
